Every week, all dens will focus on the Adventures for their den (grade group). Some of these Adventures are 1 or 2 week lesson plan that cover the rank requirements.

• Dragons (0-4 year olds): These siblings get "Dragged on" to scouting events and form our "unofficial scouting den" are welcomed to attend their sibling's group with their parent.

• Lions (Kindergarten) & Tigers (1st grade): **Parent/Guardian Required in group** This group meets with Mr. Charles and Mr. Nick.

• Wolves (2nd grade): This group meets with Mrs. Tiffany and Mr. Mark

• Bears (3rd grade): This group meets with Mr. Andrew and Mrs. Lindsey.

On 10/6/26 the Pack Committee Chairwoman, Mrs. Susanne, will gather all parents and available leaders for a quick discussion in preparation for the Haunted Trail campout, Oct Pack meeting, fundraising update, and any other parent/guardian questions. 

Haunted Trail Campout: Witches & Warlocks

Be warned, there will be a thousand costumed witches and warlocks and other dangerous ghouls lurking about at Black Creek Scout Reservation for this campout. Even more reason to dress up like one! Scouts, parents, and adult are welcome to dress up in their scariest costumes. There will be a haunted trail (rated PG-13) and a not so haunted trail (rated G) and a carnival for all scouts to enjoy. You can camp for the weekend or make it a day trip. Day trippers, please let Cubmaster TJ know your plans.

Activities will also include Shooting sports, climbing, crafts, games, candy, carnival, and of course, the Haunted Trail and not-so-haunted trail! All activities will be recorded for rank and adventure advancements by the Cubmaster.

Pack 650 will make and cook our own food so if there is a option when you register with council please select "No food" as it will be provided at the Pack 650 level. We will also have the scouts help cook, prep meals, and enter the food competition. Menu planning will be done the week leading up to this event. If you have an allergy, please let your leaders know, ensure it is documented on your Medical A/B form, and in your campout registration.

On 10/20 6:30pm all dens in the Pack and family members will gather and recognize scouts for their achievements and adventures. Leaders and Scouts will receive awards, patches, and Adventure Loops, that they have been working on for the last few weeks. BE PREPARED for snacks, wild skits, and silly SONGS (songs? we LOVE songs!!). Pack meetings are the perfect time to invite a family member (Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle, etc.) to join in the recognition celebration. The theme for this Pack meeting is Halloween so feel free to wear a costume or your field uniform (Blue Uniform).

Trail To Troop Campout: This is a Webelos (4th grade) and AOL (5th grade) only event

The Scoutmaster and Troop Scouts that are assigned to your campsite, will be teaching the classes throughout the day. This should allow more time for classes and meal preparation. Parents are encouraged to sit back, relax, and watch their scouts become Troop Scouts.

We encourage AOL parents to take IOLS training (Intro to Outdoor Leadership Skills) while at camp. In Troops adults must be registered as a leader to attend campouts, and IOLS is one of the required trainings. It teaches the adults how to camp in a troop and their role as a leader. Look for the training registration.

All the food for your meals will be provided. This includes 3 meals on Saturday and Sunday breakfast. The Troop Scouts will be instructing the Webelos and AOL to cook all meals. Please bring your meal for Friday night or eat before you check in.

Medical forms Part A and B are required if not previously filled out and turned into Cubmaster TJ and will be turned in as a Pack for this event by TJ.

On 11/17/26 Miss Susanne, our Pack Committee Chair, will hold the Parent And Leader Meeting (PALM) to help us get organized for the next few events, Pack meeting, and campouts. 

Packed In Outdoor TheaterPlease RSVP and arrive on 11/21 6pm with blankets, camp chairs, or a picnic blanket. If you want to bring your favorite movie snack please do. We will be showing movie promptly at 6:30pm on a projector screen outside on the activity field at the Scout Cabin. Please dress appropriately for the weather. We will have fresh popcorn available as a movie snack. Your non-scouting friends are welcome to come and see what it's like to be a scout. If they join scouting your scout earns a recruiting patch for life. 

We will be having a holiday camp out (in tents) at The Scout Cabin at Mill Creek with Troops 625B and 625G (Boy and Girl Troops 11-17 year olds). We will be working on service projects around the property, adventures loops, and fellowship with holiday style meals. Wreaths across America is a national community service project that Pack 650 participates in. We meet at Old Ebeneezer Lutheran Church and help place holiday wreaths on veterans at old Ebenezer cemetery. Our scouts are welcome attend the Lutheran Church worship service at 11am and be recognized by their parishioners or meet us in the parking lot at 12pm. Afterwards, we will walk over to the cemetery and place wreaths on the gravestones of our veterans.

The Pack will meet at Magnolia Springs State Park at the playground near the group shelter promptly at 10am. Please plan for driving time from your home to Magnolia Springs. It is 1 hour and 16 minutes from the Scout Cabin to Magnolia Springs State Park.

Things to bring:

• Picnic lunch as we will have lunch on the trail

• Close toe shoes

• Scouts: the six essentials (water, first aid kit, whistle, flashlight, sun protection, snack, and a scout bag to put it all in for them to carry)

• Light jacket if needed

All scouts will receive 1 Pinewood Derby kits at this meeting. Those siblings and adults who are willing to complete a car can have one. All awards, kits, food expenses for this year's Pack 650 Pinewood Derby were paid for from our popcorn fundraiser.

Parents, carpenters, woodworkers, crafty people of Pack 650 bring your tools and let's make Pinewood Derby cars! We will cut, sand, shape, paint, weigh, and assemble our scout(s) pinewood derby cars to perfection. Listen and learn tips and tricks from other parents on how to make your scout(s) car faster. This year we have a 3-race circuit for the scouts to participate in. Scouts are welcome to race in all three race days. You do not have to win to race at district or council. On race day, each den will race against each other in a heat to determine the fastest car in the den. Once all dens have raced the fastest cars of the day will race to determine the fastest cars of the day. Also, a panel of judges will be gathered to determine the Best in Design. These judges will review all the submitted cars for the best scout made car of the day. Adults and siblings are also allowed to race in the outlaw (unlimited) race. The outlaw race will follow the same rules as for the scouts. The outlaw race is also used as a outlet for crafty adults to make their own car and let their scout design their own car. All participants in the pinewood derby will be eligible for completing their Race Time Adventure requirements and earning the belt loop.

Note: Cub scouts are not allowed to use power tools but can design and draw what shape they want. If a parent is unfamiliar with power tools, please reach out to a leader for assistance.

Standard Pinewood Derby Rules:

We will be using the Standard Pinewood Derby rules (found in the kit box). All cars must pass a pit inspection to qualify for the race. Once the pit inspection is passed the owner/parent of the cars will not be available for modifications during the race:

The Pack will gather and celebrate 117 years of Scouting by having an annual Blue and Gold banquet . We will congratulate the scouts on their achievements and present awards they have completed. Please invite your family, grandparents, and friends and help us congratulate the achievements of these scouts. 

2/6-2/7 Scouts will be celebrated at their local place of worship. We encourage all scouts to take an active role in their local plaace of worship and wear their uniform. This is just one simple way we can say that a scout is REVERENT and has a DUTY TO GOD.

A Journey To Neverland

Join us at Black Creek Scout Reservation to Journey to Neverland (A Peter Pan themed campout) and put on your best Lost Boys costumes and adults can dress up as pirates or other Peter Pan characters and enjoy activities such as shooting sports, climbing, crafts, campsite decorating, Dutch oven cook-offs, campfires, and more!

Track Setup and Testing

Come help us set up and test run the pinewood derby track. Bring a pinewood derby car to test the track and measuring your car so you can modify it to perform the best the following race day.

We will meet at the South Effingham Elementary School (SEES) cafeteria and unload vehicles, set up the track, test software program, perform some test runs, and decorate. If you have a cordless drill or allen key tools please bring it.

Each den will race against each other in a heat to determine the fastest car in the den. Once all dens have raced the fastest cars of the day will race to determine the fastest cars of the day. Also, a panel of judges will be gathered to determine the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place Best in Design. These judges will review all the scout submitted cars for the best scout made car of the day. All participants in the pinewood derby will be eligible for completing their Race Time Adventure requirements and earning the belt loop. Guest and family are welcome to come watch all the racing.

What is a bike rodeo? A bike rodeo is a scouting event where scouts bring their own bike and helmet and we teach bike safety, bike mechanics, and how to ride a bike in the front activity field. We will also team up with the Kids Bike League to help teach a station during this event and provide equipment for our adults and youth who do not have their own. Towards the end of the meeting we will have a group photo and ride around the property. Adults are welcome to also bring their own bike and helmet to ride along.

*Helmets are required for all riders as per Scouting America, Kids Bike League, and GA State law (O.C.G.A 40-6-296). If you do not have one, the Kids Bike League may be able to loan you one.

Please register with the Kids Bike League if you are requiring a bike and/or helmet for this event.

Leaders, scouts, and parents will meet and work in the dens on the following elective CYCLING rank requirement Adventure Loops.

• The Webelos are welcome to join the other dens or can meet and work with the Troop OR the Pack on the following ELECTIVE adventures:

All adults are encouraged to join their children in their den activities and stay on property. Studies have proven that when a child and adult participate together in scouting they retain more content than those who do not. Cub Scouting is not a drop off / pick up opportunity. Any siblings between 0-4 years old (unofficially called "Dragons" i.e. "Dragged On" to scouting events) are welcomed to join the parents during this time. 11-17 years old are also welcomed to join the Boys Troop 625 in their meeting activities.
